Acne & Acne Scar Treatment
What is Acne?
Acne is a hereditary condition brought on by hormonal changes that cause the oil glands to secrete too much oil (sebum). Excessive sebum, along with dead skin cells, creates a blockage in the pore, which breeds bacteria (Propionibacterium acnes). As a result, the pore becomes swollen, inflamed, and irritated. Acne may be aggravated further by emotional stress, environmental factors, picking at a pimple (which can spread bacteria, causing more pimples), and occasionally by diet.

How Can We Help?
LaserPro Cosmetic would like to help you find the perfect regimen to combat current breakouts and prevent future ones from occurring. Our doctor performs a detailed skin analysis, starting with categorizing the type of acne you have (mild, moderate or persistent) and the type of skin (young, aging or sensitive).
Acne is a complex skin condition and each individual is unique. Our doctor can tailor your acne regimen to fit your skin type. Conventional treatment for moderate acne uses antibiotic pills, which can have unwanted bodily side-effects, and treatment for severe acne uses Accutane, which can be toxic. LaserPro Cosmetic is very successful at treating moderate to severe acne using Laser and Light technology advances like the Blue Light (Omnilux, Clearlight, BLU-U), Red Light (Omnilux), Intense Pulse Light, Fotofacials TM and Photodynamic Therapy. With laser and light therapy, unwanted and sometimes toxic side-effects from medications can be avoided, often with superior results. Ask us for more details if Laser or Light treatment is right for you!
Acne scars in the past were treated by dermabrasion, chemical peel and excision with marginal improvement. LaserPro Cosmetic has a wide range of lasers and radiofrequency technology that can dramatically fade acne scars. Since each patient has different concerns and skin type, our expert staff will help you find the treatment that is right for you.
