Moles, Tags, Cysts, & Warts

Minor blemishes such as moles, cysts, skin tags and warts can seem terribly trivial and many people live quite comfortably with them. For others, however, they are a constant source of irritation and embarrassment and endless attempts at cosmetic camouflage bring no relief.

Moles are small clusters of pigmented skin cells. Nearly everyone has moles, which usually appear after birth. All moles should be examined by a doctor and any changes in the moles should be reported. Watch for changes in the size or color, sudden ulceration, bleeding, or itching in the mole.

Cysts are abnormal, closed sac-like structures within a tissue that contain a liquid, gaseous, or semisolid substance. They can occur anywhere in the body and can vary in size.

Skin tags are skin growths that look like a small piece of soft, hanging skin. Some individuals are more prone to skin tags than other, and these are usually acquired through increased weight, in part combined with heredity, or other unknown causes. Skin tags can occur almost anywhere on the body covered by skin, especially neck, face, underarms and below breasts.

Warts are small, usually painless growths on the skin caused by a virus called human papillomavirus (HPV). They are generally harmless, but can be disfiguring and embarrassing, and occasionally itchy or hurtful.

If you are distressed by these imperfections, most can be simply and quickly removed under local anesthetic.

At LaserPro Cosmetic, our doctor has many different technologies and lasers available to remove these skin lesions while minimizing scars, discomfort, and healing time.
